Mr James Croasdale, well
known to many local people
during his time spent running
Croasdale Chemists in Bury St
Edmunds, died on June 1 in
Stowlangtoft Nursing Home.
Born in Bury Lancashire but
a Bury St Edmunds man since
his family moved to the town in
1921 Mr Croasdale (81) took
over his father's business after
qualifying in pharmacy and
achieving the Pharmaceutical
Society of Great Britain's
highest award, the Perrira
medal.
For over 40 years he helped
generations of local people at
his shop in the Traverse, He
always had time to listen and
offer sound advice and was a
well-respected figure in the
town
He retired 20 years ago and
turned his attention to farming
at Lawshall, making many
friends in the agricultural
community,
