An Early Primrose - Yesterday we had brought to us a beautiful primrose in full bloom. It was picked by Mr James Croasdale of Plumpton Hall. This is somewhat singular at this time of year, and considering the perverse frost which has lately been experienced. If, as has been suggested, we may from this prognosticate an early and genial spring and summer, we hail it with all the greater pleasure.

Servant Refusing to Work
Edward Scarbrick, servant of Plumpton Hall Farm, was charged by his employer, James Croasdale, with refusing to go to his work. Scarbrick agreed to leave his employer and pay costs 8s 6d, on having his wages paid to him for the time he had served, which proposition Croasdale acquiesced in.
