William Croasdell and Isabella Tyson
William Croasdell 1788 - 1849 was the 5th son and 6th child of Henry Croasdell and Frances Bragg. He was born on 2 June 1788 and baptised on 29th June at Finsthwaite, St Peter's.
William married Isabella Tyson at Corney, Cumberland (where she was a servant) on 28 August 1819.
Isabella had been born at West Broughton and baptised at Broughton in Furness on 3 July 1799.
The family farmed at Sawrey Ground near Hawkshead but William was also a chairmaker and took on a parish apprentice from Hawkshead in 1826
They had 9 children including one set of twins. Several lines have been researched and families built up.
Some descendants became sea-farers and others emigrated to Australia.

- Married John Barrow at Finsthwaite on 26th May 1847
- Children include Thomas b c 1848, Elizabeth b c 1850 and John b c 1856
- In 1851 at Bouth.
- In 1881 at Close Foot Colton, widowed, a retired nurse
Henry 1824 - 1863
- Baptised 19 January 1824 at Hawkshead
- Died 13 November 1863 at Dalton in Furness
- Married Hannah Silver at Toxteth park, Liverpool on 18 August 1851
- They had 6 children.

Jane 1826 - ?
- Baptised at Hawkshead 24th July 1826
- Married Simeon Turner in Australia (NSW) c 1859
Frances 1829 - ?
- Baptised 9th February 1829 at Hawkshead
- Married Mark Grisedale at Aldingham parish church 1st December 1855
- Their children included Elizabeth born in Barrow c 1859 and Mary Jane b c 1867 also in Barrow.
- In 1881 Frances was a widow running a grocer's shop in Barrow.
Lydia 1831 - 1848
- Baptised 26th December 1831 at Hawkshead
- Died at Sawrey Ground and buried at Hawkshead on 4 April 1848
Isabella 1834 - 1855
- Twin to William. Born 30th April 1834 and baptised on 9th June at Hawkshead
- Died in 1855 and was buried on 17th May at Hawkshead
William 1834 - 1867
- Twin to Isabella.Born 30th April 1834 at Sawrey Ground
- Baptised 9th June at Hawkshead.
- He was a husbandman
- Died 14th February 1867 at Wythburn, Cumberland and buried 18th February at Hawkshead. Letters of administration granted to his mother
John 1838 - ?1884
- Born 31st July 1838 at Sawrey Ground and baptised 3rd October at Hawkshead.
- John was a joiner.
- Married Hannah Fisher at Dalton in Furness on 17th November 1866
- The couple had possibly three children: Fred born Dalton 1867, died in Chorlton in 1871; John Henry born 1868 and died 1869 in Chorlton; and Louisa Caroline born Hulme 1870 and died 1871 Chorlton.
- John & Hannah with Frederick and Louisa were at 65 Phillip Street, Hulme in 1871 with John's nephew Thomas Barrow (son of Elizabeth)
- John is believed to have died in Bourall NSW Australia on 3rd April 1884 and it is assumed that he and Hannah emigrated there after the deaths of their first three children
Mary 1843 - 1861
- Baptised at Hawkshead 26th June 1843
- Died at Sawrey Ground and buried at Hawkshead 11th August 1861
William died in September 1849 and was buried at Hawkshead on the 7th. Isabella obtained an administration grant so that she could deal with his affairs and she continued to farm in her own right. Isabella herself left an informative will ..... She died on 7th Dec 1873 at Bouth near Colton and was buried at Hawkshead on 10th December.
